Who we are
Bervolta exists to assess resort hotels in the German and Austrian spa towns and publish what we find. We are an editorial operation: no bookings are taken, no commissions are earned, and no listing position is purchased.
Assessments are carried out on site against an unchanging six-part rubric. We publish the resulting score together with the reservation we hold about the property, in plain terms.
How we score
The rubric is deliberately rigid: six criteria, fixed weights, and the same questions asked at every property we cover.
- 25% — Casino floors and lounges
- 20% — Guest rooms
- 20% — Front-of-house service
- 15% — Restaurants and bars
- 10% — Position and transit
- 10% — Value
Independence and funding
Nothing in this catalogue is bought. Properties do not pay for inclusion, do not preview their reviews, and cannot have an unfavourable line taken down.
Where we link to a property's own site or to a third-party reservation service, that link is provided for the reader's convenience. Any booking that follows is a contract between the reader and the property, and we take no part in it.
Corrections
Tell us if we have made a mistake. Send the property and the specific point; where the report stands up, the page is corrected and re-dated so the change is visible.
